Report: Microsoft 2017 net profit in Russia rises 51% to 1 bln rbl
MOSCOW, Jul 30 (PRIME) -- The net profit of Microsoft Rus, a Russian branch of the U.S.’ Microsoft, rocketed 50.8% in 2017 to 1.16 billion rubles, business daily Vedomosti reported late on July 27 on its website, citing an annual report of the software giant.
Revenue shrank 6.5% to 9.2 billion rubles and sales profit increased 50% to 1.6 billion rubles.
Microsoft Rus paid 1.14 billion rubles in dividends to its parent company, almost twice as much as 570 million rubles paid in 2015, while no dividends were paid in 2016.
The net profit of Microsoft Development Center Rus, a local unit of Skype Technologies, belonging to Microsoft, doubled to 36.9 million rubles in 2017 and its revenue rose 20% to 381 million rubles.
Besides, SAP CIS, a local unit of German software maker SAP AG, posted s net profit of 382 million rubles in 2017 against a net loss in 2016. Revenue rose 26% to 32 billion rubles, and sales profit soared to 2 billion rubles from 65 million rubles a year earlier.
